Natural beauty along the Kungsleden

Very spontaneously a friend of mine and me decided to hike the northern section of the Kungsleden from Nikkaluokta to Abisko. 110km through the magical landscape of Lapland. We tried to pack our backpacks as light as possible and every piece of gear was examined and judged regarding its worth before making it into the pack. When you have to carry your necessities day by day you realize fast what you truly need. We hiked the Kungsleden in mid August when the temperatures at night were still above 0 degrees so that it was still comfortable sleeping in the tent. For 6 days we got to enjoy the stunning and truly inspiring nature of Swedish Lapland. Along the way we met incredible people who had plenty of stories to tell. That’s what makes hiking so special to me. It’s not only the surrounding that makes the trail memorable, but also the people. People who encounter you without prejudices but with kindness and an open heart. The love for nature is what we have in common.
