Western Landscapes

After living in Manhattan for 30 years, I moved West, first to Las Vegas, then southern California, and now Reno. I loved hiking in the rock formations outside Las Vegas. In Reno, I lived very close to Lake Tahoe (where I took the picture that resembles a Chinese landscape painting), in the Sierra Nevada, which extends south past the Alabama Hills in Lone Pine CA. Nevada is the most mountainous state in the US and I love driving out in the rural areas for the mountains and desert. Two of the photos were taken at or near the Moon Rocks formation in the outskirts of Reno. Another was taken at the Lava Beds (actually granite) rock formation. The photo of Zion National Park was taken with Kodak Aerochrome Infrared Color film. The sunset photo was taken at Bryce Canyon. None of the photos was post processed except the Liberty Bell rock formation in Las Vegas, which was originally in color.
