Deadvlei
Deadvlei
Dead Vlei is a white clay basin located at the foot of the Sossusvlei sand dunes in the Namib Desert, Namibia. Dead Vlei translates as "dead valley" or "dead marsh," and you'll understand why as soon as you set foot inside. "Vlei" is a Namibian term meaning "clay plain" or "dry lake." The sun-baked, dead tree trunks are estimated to be around 900 years old.
This place invites calm and introspection.
