The ages of violence

Foucault wrote that between the end of the eighteenth century and the beginning of the nineteenth century "the ceremonial of punishment goes into the shadows, to be nothing more than a new procedural act or administrative".
In the project The Ages of Violence a series of staged photos brings the unconscious back to the surface collective the sublimated remains of executions of the death penalty through images in which the our daily lives, our well-being, our rituals show their dark side and they become allegories of different ways in which the condemned are executed.

He started shooting and working in the darkroom very early, caught up in his father's passion for photography.

Parallel to his studies in Political Science at the University of Bologna he worked as a professional photographer, an activity which he continued up to full-time commitment to local politics and administration.

Since 2014 he is Mayor of Soliera (MO).

After attending the course in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism at the Marangoni Foundation in Florence with the TerraProject Collective and the Master in Contemporary Photography at Spazio Labò in Bologna with Mustafa Sabbagh, he embarked on a personal journey in the field of staged photography.
