Impressions

The Impressions series aims to convey the sense of saturation and density which reigns in condensed and disorganized urban environments. The use of the multiple exposure technique enhances the claustrophobic feel and the overwhelming chaos of these concrete jungles. Creating this effect in camera requires many trials, and not knowing the exact outcome in advance has an arbitrary quality to it, which is also a form of chaos. The resulting photograph is an abstraction which translates the frenzy essence of a city, while simultaneously resembling an impressionistic painting.
